Paddleboard Lake Wylie
The Goat Boater, Lake Wylie Paddleboarding enthusiasts took part in this year’s Tega Cay Polar Plunge on Lake Wylie. The event took place at the Beach & Swim Center in Tega Cay and raised over $12,000 for the Special Olympics in SC. The Polar Plunge was organized and put together by the Tega Cay Police Department. A big thanks to community volunteers for helping make the day go off without any hiccups and to The Tega Cay Fire Department who spent the day handing out a great lunch to everyone. The Goat Boaters paddled just shy of a two mile paddle through Niven’s Creek to make it in time for the plunge then took off on their boards for another two miles post plunge paddleboard on Lake Wylie. Participating in local charity events and fundraisers is part of the Goat Boater culture. We want to be a part of this community and give of our time and efforts to make changes in the lives of others. The next event The Goat Boaters will take part in is a bi-monthly shoreline sweep via paddleboard. The Lake Wylie shoreline clean up will be a volunteer effort organized by The Goat Boaters.
