Goat Boater Race Series #4 of 6 - The 200 M Sprint Heats.

Sprinting has become its own specialty in paddle board racing and this is your day to test your skills.  Racers will learn to manage their energy by completing 2-3 heats to win (Quarter, Semi and Finals), some racers may only race 2 heats. Each heat is a 200M straight sprinting course with a standing start and standing finish.

View a virtual run of the course Here!

All Goat Boater Races are capped at 60 racers and this is a SUP only event.

The Tega Cay Beach and Swim Center offers great views for you and your family to watch the race and enjoy some beautiful views of Lake Wylie. The Goat Boater Race series is unique in many ways. Most notably our 1 mile social paddle directly after the race for all paddlers and guests.

Testimonial: "I love the Goat boater race series! This was my first year doing the race series and I really enjoyed challenging myself." ~B. Hartman

The Goat Boater Race Series:

The Goat Boater, located in Tega Cay, South Carolina is an extremely unique 6 event summer race series. This series will consist of sprints, mid-range and longer distance paddles for all level paddlers. Each race (1 per month) of the series will be different, unique and ALWAYS a 1 mile social paddle afterwards!

Come challenge your skills over the season as we travel back and forth from two beautiful locations in Tega Cay, South Carolina. These locations were strategically picked as they have great high up views where spectators and family will be able to view most of the race. Come to one race or come to all. Individual awards/participation medals will be given each race and series awards will be given at the end of the season to those who have the most cumulative points.

Testimonial: "Goat boater race series was an excellent opportunity to improve in every way. Mixing with the other boaters has enhanced my knowledge of SUP and I’ve made some good friends that I would not otherwise have had the chance to. I applaud Megan and her helpers who have spent many hours planning and holding this series. Look forward to 2022"

The best of up to 4 of the 6 races will go towards season standings.  Season standings can be found by heading on over and visiting our good friends with the Canadian Paddle League Here!  Those who complete 4 of the 6 races will be rewarded. We have some monster prizes lined up for our season winners for both male and female categories.

*In order to get our paddlers what they need most; 1st place gets 1st option for podium prizes, then 2nd then 3rd for both male and female divisions overall.

Standup paddling has evolved to multiple distance races including sprinting, mid-range and longer distance paddles. We will be hosting a 200M Sprint with heats, 2000M Technical Sprint Heats, a 5K, a 10K, a Pirate (Choose your own path) race and the ultimate finale a 6K, 3 lap paddle battle with season awards following. Our races test all aspects of paddling with water, sitting and beach starts along with water and beach finishes!  All Goat Boater Races are capped at 60 racers and this is a SUP only event.

This race series has been well thought out, vetted and meticulously planned, yet low key. We plan to race, have fun, do it all season long, and socially paddle 1 mile after each race. We typically wrap things up by noon.  Afterward all are invited to join us at a local restaurant for great food, drinks and socializing!

Thank you in advance for your support, patronage and best efforts to have fun and paddle hard. Whether you live down the road and have never been in a race, or are traveling from hours away, you will be warmly welcomed. To date we have paddlers that travel from 5 different states!  We may all become best friends, yet when the air horn sounds we will be leaving it all on the water!

Paddle on!
